As the bikes get back on track, there are a whole host of new faces clambering onto their new machines and getting hyped up for the upcoming season. 10 rookies join the Moto3 grid so let’s have a look at who is who and where they’ve come from.
First up Estrella Galicia’s newest recruit, Sergio García (11).
Not to be confused with the footballer, the boxer or even the golfer of the same name, the young Spaniard has achieved brilliant things in his own right as he claimed second in the 2018 FIM CEV Moto3 Junior Championship. García scored four race wins across the year including a victory in the second round of the season in Valencia. He also claimed one pole position and three top 10s during the year on his Honda powered machine.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t the easiest of years for García as he racked up three DNFs through the year and was also forced to sit out of both the second race in Valencia as well as Le Mans, losing him vital points in the championship battle.
García will make move into the Moto3 class but there will be a slight delay in seeing how he adapts to the change as he is too young to compete in Qatar due to his tender age of 15 so unfortunately, Estrella Galicia’s points hopes will fall onto his teammate Alonso Lopez.
