Preparations for the 2019 season is well underway for the British Superbike paddock with the first official pre-season test dates announced by BSB organisers.
With less than 100 days remaining till the 2019 season kicks off at Silverstone, BSB bosses have announced the dates and tracks for the overseas tests at Monteblanco in Seville and Portimao in Portugal before ending the pre-season testing at Silverstone, the circuit which will host the opening round 10 days later.
The much-anticipated wait for bikes to get on track again will end on March 13/14/15 as the BSB teams head out to Seville for a 3-day test at the Monteblanco circuit in Seville, giving riders and teams a few days to get to grips with their new machines and compare them against the competition.
Following the opening test, the riders and teams then get to have another ride of their new machines in Portugal at the famous Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, Portimao on March 17/18. Crucial track time for the riders and teams will give vital testing time to the 2019 contenders, with many new rider and team combinations, ahead of the opening two races of the new season.
The first British test will take place at the Silverstone National Circuit, the track that will host the opening round of the season in 2019. The riders and teams will get a one day test, April 9th, to get a few final adjustments ahead of the season opener on April 19/20/21.
These tests won’t be the first time a few riders get to try their new machines with PBM Ducati, Honda, JG Speedfit, Suzuki, Yamaha and RAF Kawasaki already completing a few days testing in Spain at the end of 2018.
