Mattia Casadei is a 21 year old Italian rider from Rimini who will race for the SIC 58 Team in MotoE for 2019.
Mattia began his career at 6 years old after his father bought him a pocket bike. From that he progressed through the ranks with the Pasini Racing Team before signing for the SIC 58 Squadracorse team in 2013 to race in the Italian 125cc Pre-GP Championship where he would finish in 5th place.
He would then progress with the SIC 58 team to the CIV Moto3 championship aboard an FTR Honda in 2014 where he would finish in 14th place as a rookie.
In 2014 Mattia would try out for the Red Bull Rookies Cup with success, earning himself a place in the championship which has created many world champions including Johann Zarco, Danny Kent, Joan Mir and most recently Jorge Martin.
He began his Red Bull Rookies career in 2015, also continuing to race with the SIC 58 Squadracorse team in the CIV Moto3 Championship. Casadei’s best Red Bull Rookies results in 2015 were P8 at Sachsenring 2 and Silverstone 2.
He continued to race in the Red Bull Rookies Cup in 2016 showing consistency across the season with a best result of P4 at Assen 2.
In 2017 Mattia moved to the CEV Moto3 Championship with the SIC 58 team and struggled, his best result was P11 and only scored points twice ending the season in P32 in the standings.
Mattia contested in the CIV Supersport 600 championship for 2018 finishing on the podium multiple times, continuing with the SIC 58 Squadracorse team.
Mattia is one of the youngest MotoE riders at 21 with a long career ahead of him, we wish him all the best.
