Niccolo Canepa and Randy De Puniet will both return back to the MotoGP paddock for 2019 riding in the MotoE championship.
The Lucio Cecchinello Racing Team will run 2 bikes in the MotoE series with riders Niccolo Canepa and Randy De Puniet.
Canepa, who currently rides for Yamaha in the Endurance championship and tests for the Pata Yamaha WSBK Team will return to the MotoGP paddock where he used to race for Pramac Ducati in 2009 on a GP9. He also had a short stint in Moto2 in 2010 but failed to score a point on the Scot Force, Suter and Bimota chassis.
Randy De Puniet rode for the LCR team for 3 years in MotoGP aboard a Honda RC212V and managed to get a podium at Donington 2009.
He also rode for them in the 250cc class in 2003 and 2004 on an Aprilia RSV250.
He was in the MotoGP paddock full time from 1999-2013 with wildcards in 1998 and 2014.
2019 is hotting up to be a fantastic year in MotoE with more and more prestigious names being confirmed for the class.
