Bradley Smith will ride for the One Energy Racing team for 2019 in MotoE
The current factory Red Bull KTM rider has lost his ride to Frenchman Johann Zarco which puts him in a sticky situation for 2019 as the Englishman would still like to race however has no MotoGP options.
Aprilia have stepped in and Bradley Smith has signed a deal to be their test rider for 2019. These days we are seeing more and more factories with dedicated European test riders/teams following in the successes of Ducati with Stoner, KTM with Kallio and Honda with Bradl.
However Bradley will not run in any races for 2019 with Aprilia. He has acknowledged this but feels he needs to remain race ready which is why he has signed for the One Energy Racing team for 2019 in the new MotoE class.
Bradley will join the likes of Xavier Simeon, Nico Terol and Maria Herrera in this new racing series spanning over select European MotoGP rounds
