The 2019 British Superbike championship has been announced ahead of this weekends races at Assen, with a few big changes.
The 2019 calendar has had a big shakeup with a few changes coming in for 2019 to give the British Superbike a fresh look.
The first change comes right at the start of the season and will start much later on the 19th- 21st April, with Silverstone opening the 2019 season. However, the Silverstone circuit will continue to run the shorter National circuit that provided great racing at this year’s event.
Normally Brands Hatch hosts the second round of the season on the Indy circuit, but for 2019 Oulton Park will host round 2 on Bank Holiday Monday, 4th-6th May.
A huge change sees Donington Park host 2 rounds, one on the short National circuit, which will host round 3, where they will cut out the Foggy Esses, Melbourne Loop, and Goddard’s hairpin.
British Superbikes will return to Brands Hatch for the ‘Big Brands Bash’ on the 14th-16th June before heading to Scotland for round 5 on the 28th-30th June.
The calendar then remains unchanged as we head to Snetterton, Thruxton and then the party in the park at the mountain circuit.
The second visit to Oulton Park will take place on the 6th-8th September before heading overseas to Assen, one round earlier than 2017 to start the 2019 showdown.
After we get back from Assen we return to Donington Park, this time on the GP circuit before heading to Brands Hatch to end the season on 18th-20th October.
This calendar is a provisional calendar and is following approval by its governing body, the MCRCB.
