Alex Lowes and Michael van der Mark will be leading Yamaha World Superbike effort also in 2019 season, after agreeing terms of contract extension with Yamaha Motor Europe at the recent round in Misano.
For 27-year old Briton Alex Lowes 2019 will be his fourth season with Crescent run team, having been part of the project since the start of Yamaha factory team return to the class back in 2016. Getting seven podiums since 2017, including his first ever World Superbike win in Brno at the start of June, Alex has been currently occupying fifth position in the standings with 193 points.
On the other side of the garage, 2019 will be third season for 25-year old Dutchman Michael van der Mark, during which he managed to get on the podium nine times since 2017, scoring also three wins. All of them came during current 2018 season, also a memorable double during team’s home round at Donington part, where Michael became the first rider since Cal Crutchlow durin 2010 season in doing so. Van der Mark is currently third in overall standings with 248 points.
Both riders will also contest 2018 edition of Suzuka 8H race, where they will team up with Yamaha MotoGP test rider Katsuyuki Nakasuga to form Yamaha factory effort in bid to get factories 4th successive win at the legendary Japanese track, being unbeaten since 2016 edition of the race.
