Luke Jones will head to Brands Hatch with a brand new team-mate this weekend after Australians Sam Clarke will miss the Brands round after reportedly splitting with Steve Buckenham’s Morello Kawasaki team.
Sam Clarke will no longer take part in the British Superstock class after splitting with the Morello Kawasaki team. Sam Clarke has returned to Australia after a big crash in the morning warmup at Knockhill 2 weeks ago left him badly beaten up.
Sam Clarke came over to the British series in 2017 on the CF Motorsport Yamaha in the Supersport class but after a nasty accident at Brands Hatch, it put him out of action for a few weeks. On Sam’s return at Knockhill, he finished both races in a very impressive 7th position. A few rounds later, however, it was announced that Sam would be stepping up to the Superstock class alongside his team-mate Brayden Elliott who had been running with CF Motorsport in Superstock 1000 for the whole season.
The team started 2018 with Sam Clarke who was brought in from Craig Fitzpatricks CF Motorsport Yamaha and Josh Elliott who left the Tyco BMW team to join the 2017 Superstock championship winning team.
After the 3rd round of the season, Josh left the Morello Kawasaki squad to join the OMG Racing Suzuki and the departed Ben Luxton. Steve Buckenham was quick to sign Luke Jones who had been previously running his own Superstock bike.
There has been no announcement on who will replace Sam Clarke at Morello but we will keep you up to date here at nowmoto.co.uk.
We wish Sam all the best with his career and hope to see him back in the British Superbike paddock soon!
