The Repsol Honda Rider will start the German Grand Prix from pole position after setting the pole lap record in this afternoons qualifying session.
Marc Marquez’s last lap dash gave him his 9th consecutive pole at Sachsenring with a new pole lap record. The Spaniard set a 1:20.270 just 0.025s ahead of Pramac Ducati’s Danilo Petrucci.
Jorge Lorenzo set the third fastest time just 0.057s off his 2019 teammate.
Maverick Vinales heads the second row after leading most of the session ahead of Andrea Dovizioso who only managed 11th in FP3 and had to go through Q1. Italian Valentino Rossi was able to salvage a 6th position to give ‘The Doctor’ his best possible chance of a podium spot tomorrow.
Britons Call Crutchlow heads the third row ahead of Suzuki’s Andrea Iannone who topped FP1 and FP3. Alvaro Bautista rounds off the third row after crashing on his final lap in Qualifying that would have put him on the second row.
After announcing his retirement Dani Pedrosa will start his final race in Germany from 10th ahead of fellow Spaniard Alex Rins.
The second LCR Honda of Takaaki Nakagami rounded off the top 12 after following Andrea Dovizioso through Q1 and into Q2.
